Neurolysis is a medical procedure used to treat certain types of nerve pain and conditions that involve nerve compression or irritation. It involves the process of breaking down or damaging nerve tissue to relieve pain, improve function or reduce unwanted symptoms. This treatment can be used for various types of nerves including those in the celiac plexus, brachial plexus and peroneal nerve. It is also known as (neurolytic) treatment when certain chemicals are used to target and disrupt nerve function.
