Overview 

Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (X-SCID) is a rare and life-threatening genetic condition in which the immune system does not develop properly. It leads to a severe deficiency of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, making the body highly vulnerable to infections.

X-SCID usually presents in infancy and requires urgent medical care. Without treatment, even common infections can become life-threatening.
