Overview

Urethritis is an inflammation of the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body. It is commonly caused by bacterial or viral infections, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Urethritis can affect both men and women and often presents with pain during urination and abnormal discharge. Early diagnosis and proper treatment are important to prevent complications and transmission.
