Overview

Typhoid Fever is a serious infectious disease caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi. It spreads through contaminated food and water, particularly in areas with poor sanitation.

Typhoid fever affects the digestive system and bloodstream, leading to prolonged fever and systemic illness. With early diagnosis and proper antibiotic treatment, most patients recover fully.

Types of Typhoid Fever 

• Acute Typhoid Fever: Sudden onset with high fever and symptoms
• Chronic Carrier State: Individuals carry bacteria without symptoms and can spread infection
• Paratyphoid Fever: Caused by related bacteria (Salmonella paratyphi), usually milder
