FAQ

Overview

Torn Ligaments refers to injuries where one or more ligaments, strong bands of tissue connecting bones, are stretched or torn. These injuries commonly affect the knee, ankle, and shoulder, especially during sports or sudden movements.

The most frequently injured ligaments include the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL), Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL), and Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL). The severity can range from mild sprains to complete tears requiring surgical repair.

Early diagnosis and proper treatment are essential for restoring joint stability and function.

Types of Torn Ligaments Disease

  • ACL Tear: Common knee injury during sports involving sudden stops or direction changes
  • MCL Tear: Injury to the inner knee ligament due to direct impact
  • PCL Tear: Occurs due to strong force on the knee (e.g., accidents)
  • LCL Tear: Injury to the outer knee ligament
  • Ankle Ligament Tear: Often caused by twisting or rolling the ankle
  • Shoulder Ligament Injury: Affects shoulder stability
