Overview 

Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome is a rare condition in which one or more tumors called gastrinomas form in the pancreas or duodenum. These tumors produce excessive amounts of the hormone gastrin, leading to increased stomach acid production.

This excess acid can cause severe and recurrent peptic ulcers, abdominal pain, and digestive issues. Early diagnosis and proper treatment are essential to prevent complications.

Types of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome Disease

• Sporadic Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Occurs without inherited cause
• MEN1-Associated ZES: Linked to Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1
