Wound Botulism

Overview

Wound Botulism is a rare but serious condition caused by toxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum infecting a wound. These toxins affect the nervous system and can lead to muscle paralysis.

Types of Wound Botulism Disease

• Wound Botulism: Infection enters through a wound

Symptoms of Wound Botulism

• Muscle weakness
• Drooping eyelids (ptosis)
• Blurred or double vision

• Progressive paralysis starting from the face
